Some people will claim the Bible cannot be trusted and has been changed over the years and there is no reason to believe that it is actually the word of God. In truth there are many reasons why the Bible can be trusted and believed as the true words of God, here is a top 5 list.
#5. The archeological evidence
The history written about in the Bible has been proven over and over again throughout the centuries. There has been whole people groups written about in the Bible that secular history used to believe never existed such as the Hittites or the Edomites. As time went on archaeology has found abundant evidence of these people groups and their civilizations that led to secular historians having to change their views and admit the Bible was correct on ancient civilizations. There are events and places in the Bible such as the “Walls of Jericho” and ancient ruins all throughout Israel that confirm the descriptions of them in the Bible, including archaeological finds that confirm the existence of famous Biblical figures such as King David, King Hezekiah, Pontius Pilate Herod the great, and many other kings written about in both the Old and New Testaments.
#4. Scientific evidence
Although the Bible is not a science book, there are many scientific facts and details written about hundreds and even thousands of years before secular scientists discovered these truths. Some examples such as in Isaiah chapter 40 the earth is described as being round, a truth that the ancient world never believed, the common thinking of the time was the earth was flat. Also in Job chapter 26 it is said the Earth is suspended in Space and hanging on nothing. In Both Ecclesiastes chapter 1, Amos chapter 9 and Job chapter 36 it is written about the water cycle, condensation evaporation and precipitation, highlighting that the ocean is the main source of rain, this knowledge was written in the Bible thousands of years before modern science would find it out.

#3. The Power to change and transform lives
The Bible accurately describes the spiritual state of mankind. Correctly stating that man is lost without God, enslaved to sinful desires, man looks for fulfillment in many areas but ultimately will never be satisfied until He finds His Creator. No book throughout history has ever transformed more lives, sold more copies or has had such an impact on the history of the world as the Bible. Every continent has been touched by the word of God as it has shaped cultures, governments, and most of all changed countless hearts. Every need that man feels and desires is written about in the Bible, every emotion mankind has is expressed and deep questions about life are answered. #2. The manuscript evidence
Sometimes you will hear the claim “the Bible has been changed over time so you can’t believe it”. That of course is not true as there is ample evidence that the Bible has not been changed and the very words we see in our Bible today are the words that were written by the original authors. There are over 5,000 Greek manuscripts or fragments of the New Testament some dating to within a decade of the original writing. All say the same thing as is in our Bibles today. The Old Testament? With the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls which are ancient copies of the Old Testament dating to centuries before Christ, the amazing truth is the copies found have the same words as what is in our Bibles today. #1. The Prophecies
The Bible is full of prophecies that have been fulfilled with 100% accuracy. Predictions that are written about hundreds and many times thousands of years before it has taken place, are fulfilled exactly how the prediction has been stated. Peoples names are predicted hundreds of years before they are even born such as King Cyrus of Persia. In the book of Isaiah God tells Isaiah He will use Him to accomplish His purposes 200 years before he is born and history records it happening just as He said it would. The rise and fall of empires are predicted hundreds of years before they come to pass. The messianic prophecies concerning Jesus are the most detailed and important of all and there are so many of them ranging from; where Jesus will be born, when He will be born, things He will do, in what way He will die, how He will be buried, and of coarse of how He will be resurrected. Hundreds of prophecies about Jesus predicted centuries before His birth and they are fulfilled with stunning accuracy. The odds that all the prophecies in the Bible that came true with such accuracy would have came true by random chance are astronomically low. The fulfilled prophecies verify Biblical truth.
If someone makes a claim that you can’t trust the Bible tell them to do the research before they make such an uninformed statement. The Bible is the very words of God that He gave to us to draw near to Him and to know Him. He gives us the way of salvation and the way to be forgiven of our sins through Jesus Christ. Make an effort to make reading the Bible an important part of your life as it reveals the way to eternal life, and holds the truth to grow in your faith.
